from "Embrace Dimond" website
The Dimond Hidden Jewels mural on the side of Farmer Joe’s was a collaboration with Debbie Koppman, involving students from Sequoia Elementary. The artists took the children on walks through the neighborhood, looking at historic houses and places, and then used the childrens’ drawings to create a “crazy quilt” of the neighborhood. The panels, left to right, show the history of this neighborhood since it was a woodland area. Sausal Creek runs through the neighborhood, and through each panel.
This mural is “the crowning jewel” in a neighborhood’s re-vitalization.
